The Foundation's team, and in particular those involved in our home-visiting service, received high recognition for their work with vulnerable families from experts from around the world gathered at an international symposium in Chicago, USA. We participated in the event by presenting our activities and the context in which we work, the essence of the home-visiting service Nurse-Family Partnership and in particular the developmental tracking of children in the service through the application of the ASQ screening tool. It forms part of the clinical assessments that our home-visiting nurses carry out with regard to each child's physical and socio-emotional development. Early childhood development specialists and researchers from the USA, Canada, Australia, Asia and Europe have expressed support for the importance of our work in such a difficult context of families from Sofia and Plovdiv living mostly in isolation, poverty and with difficult access to health and social services. Experts in turn shared their experiences of implementing child development assessment programs and tools both in vulnerable communities (such as indigenous peoples in Australia and Canada) and with the general population. While in Chicago, our team participated in another large-scale event, the annual conference of the American Association for Early Childhood Development (Division of Early Childhood). Hundreds of participants had the opportunity to engage in dozens of scientific sessions that ran concurrently in 26 rooms. Our team naturally focused on topics related to home visiting services and their effect on children's health and development.
