Nutritional support for 150 children and women

For yet another year, the Trust for Social Achievement was able to raise funds through donations on the Global Giving platform to provide food parcels to support all vulnerable families - users of the Nurse – Family Partnership patronage service. With the funds donated in our campaign "Wholesome food for the neediest children" since the beginning of the year, this time we supported 150 children and pregnant women enrolled in our home visiting service in Sofia and Plovdiv. The assistance was divided into 3 types of packages - general food for 45 young pregnant and breastfeeding women; adapted milk for 60 babies up to 12 months who are not breastfed; purees, porridges and baby food for 45 babies aged 13 to 24 months.

Breastfeeding, and then providing a nutritious and varied diet, are paramount to the health of pregnant women and children. However, for many families in our community, including those within reach of our patronage care, this is not always an achievable goal. For this reason, the TSA service team launched the fundraiser four years ago - so that through nutritional support in addition to home visits from our family nurses, we can achieve good health outcomes and the wholesome development of children.
