The sixth "Gift a fairytale" campaign starts on November 1, 2024 and will last until the end of the year.
Similarly to previous years, we want to gift some happiness to the young children in our Nurse-Family Partnership initiative this Christmas by surprising them with books that can develop their imagination and curiosity about the world from a young age.
This is an occasion to talk about the importance of reading and storytelling for the development of the little ones. Together with this, we hope to support more young parents, especially those living in poverty, to include books in their children’s activities as early as possible after their birth.
How to get involved:
- Donate new or used books in good condition for children under 2 by bringing them or sending them to our office: Trust for Social Achievement, Sofia, 64 Patriarh Evtimiy boulevard. If you wish to bring them to us, we would be happy to greet you every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30 till 18.00
- Donate funds and in addition to the books, we can include some baby essentials for the families most in need of support
- Share the campaign page on Facebook
- Share a Facebook post with your first or favourite book you remember from your childhood with the hashtag #podariprikazka
- Record a short video of you reading a favorite story to your child and share on Facebook with #podariprikazka
If you’d like to get involved with your colleagues, let them know about the campaign and:
- Have a pre-Christmas competition at the office to identify fairy tale characters using a quote from your favorite book. For each wrong answer, set aside a book or funds for a donation. Share via your social media channels.
- You could announce a walking week (if you generally use public transport) or a commute week (if you generally drive to work) - use the money saved on tickets/fuel for books or you could donate easily via the donate button. Spread the word about your adventures and on social media with #podariprikazka
- You can organize a Christmas bazaar at your workplace and donate the collected funds or buy books for the campaigns
- If you traditionally exchange gifts (Secret Santa), you may decide to set aside part of the funds to support the campaign

During the last five years of Gift a Fairytale, we collected nearly 4,000 books and made over 500 families happy. We will make gifts from the books collected during the campaign, which the family nurses of the Nurse-Family Partnership will then distribute to the children for the holiday season.
We will use the monetary donations collected to cover the most pressing needs of the babies, such as diapers, baby cosmetics, infant formula, purees and porridge.
We would like to invite our friends and allies to support our early childhood development early childhood development and home-visiting support for young mothers living in poverty. Share with friends and family and spread word of the campaign on your social media accounts.
