Lack of education explains the poverty

According to the National statistical institute's data Roma community is one of the poorest in Bulgaria. And lack of education remains the primary reason for this issue, Kalinka Vassileva, expert from Trust for Social Achievement Foundation, claimed in front of Bloomberg TV.

"Only 50% of Roma children accomplish 8th grade and that's why their chances on the labor market are too limited. 15% of them graduate from Secondary school, and 1% - from University."

"The system of education and schools as well should follow better and pay attention on labor market needs", Vassileva explained. She said that poverty is the main reason for Roma srop out students.
