The first book is the first dream. Gift a fairytale – gift a future. 

On November 1, 2025, the seventh edition of the charitable campaign “Gift a Fairytale” begins — on Bulgaria’s National Enlighteners’ Day — and will continue through the festive season at the end of the year. 

For seven years in a row, Gift a Fairytale has brought together kind-hearted people from across Bulgaria to give the youngest children — aged 0 to 2 and growing up in poverty — more than just a book. 

It offers them a beginning: a beginning of curiosity, of bonding between parent and child, and of a world where every baby can dream. 

Once again this year, we rely on you – our long-time supporters: individual donors, companies and their teams, parents, children, and students. 

Thanks to you, Gift a Fairytale has become a true celebration of shared kindness. 

How to Get Involved

Who Receives Your Gift 

The campaign supports vulnerable young families with children up to 2 years old, who are part of the home-visiting Nurse-Family Partnership program, implemented by the Trust for Social Achievement since 2016. 
Trained nurses and midwives visit these families in Sofia and Plovdiv — from pregnancy until the child turns two — helping parents create a healthy, safe, and stimulating home environment, even when facing hardship. 

Books that Change Childhood 

Since its first edition in 2019, Gift a Fairytale has collected over 5,000 books, bringing joy to more than 500 children and their parents. 
In the most successful years, when the generosity of our donors exceeded expectations, we were also able to send books to kindergartens in remote and underprivileged areas — places where children rarely have access to such materials. 

This way, Gift a Fairytale reaches even farther – to children for whom every book is a true discovery. 

In 2025, our goal remains the same – to collect even more books and donations for the little ones supported by the “Nurse-Family Partnership. 

Our focus continues to be on early reading and early childhood development – because every story read in time can transform a childhood and an entire life. 

The First Book is the First Dream 

With every edition of Gift a Fairytale, we make these small dreams come true – bringing books, care, and smiles to babies from vulnerable families. 

They may be too young to read on their own, but they are big enough to feel the magic of a story told with love – by a mother, a father, or a visiting nurse. 

Gift a Fairytale carries a message of hope and togetherness – a reminder that, united, we can give every child a beginning filled with imagination, love, and dreams.
