The two-day meeting aimed at exchanging experience gained under the Young Roma Teachers project has opened today in Bankya and is organised by TSA. It is attended by 15 representatives of the five partner organisations: New Path Association – Vratsa, Knowledge Association – Lovech, Club of Non-Governmental Organisations Association – Targovishte, Tundzha Local Action Group and the Roma Academy for Culture and Education.
The idea behind the meeting is for all participants, coordinators and mentors to share the experience they have gained this far, the challenges that they have faced, as well as any future initiatives.
To date 20 young people have joined the Young Roma Teachers project. Some of them are still being trained as pre-school and primary school teachers; others are still pursuing the university programme in Pre-School and Primary School Education. We have already seen a few successful examples of young people who started working as primary school teachers.
