Blagovesta’s Story – First Steps Toward Big Dreams

27.11.2025

Blagovesta is 18 years old, lives in Sofia, and is still in school. She loves drawing, reading, and writing, and her biggest inspiration is animation – a world where everything is possible. “My dream is to one day work on a major animated production – to create stories and characters that inspire people,” she shares.

When she learned from the Trust for Social Achievement about the opportunity for a summer internship at IKEA, Blagovesta decided to apply, knowing she had to write an essay on the topic “My Dream.” She poured all her hopes and ambitions onto the page, not realizing that these very words would open the door to a new adventure.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect to get this far – just being invited to an interview was a moment of pride for me,” she admits. During the interview, she overcame her nervousness and showed who she truly is – young, motivated, and full of ideas and dreams. And so her first internship in the corporate world began, in the Marketing department at IKEA.

The Experience – Challenges, Teamwork, and Inspiration

From the very first day, Blagovesta was welcomed with smiles and a willingness to support her. The tasks assigned to her were diverse – sorting documents, preparing materials for presentations, and stepping into the world of marketing. Although some moments seemed difficult at first – such as finding specific products in the store – she quickly adapted thanks to careful guidance and explanations.

One of the most memorable moments for her was preparing a presentation for a project that would be shown to other departments. Her design impressed everyone, and for the first time she felt how meaningful her contribution could be.

Feedback from the Team

“Blagovesta is wonderful – she communicates easily, has a creative eye and approach to her work. She takes on new tasks with positivity and willingness, and not only completes them, but achieves great results,” her colleagues at IKEA share.

Lessons – Change and Personal Growth

For Blagovesta, the internship was much more than work experience. It showed her the importance of being open to change, the value of a supportive team, and the power of persistence. “I learned that when a team is united, everything becomes easier. And I discovered that I am capable of more than I imagined,” she says. She describes her internship with three words – inspiration, unity, and transformation.

From IKEA she takes away something priceless – the confidence that when you put your heart and effort into something, opportunities come. And the advice she will never forget: “Don’t give up.”
