We Care Network: Preventing Family Separation

We Care Network: Preventing Family Separation project aims to reduce the number of Roma children at risk of family separation by advocating for improved access and quality of integrated material, health and social support for young Roma people, pregnant women and families living in poverty.

The specific activities of the Equal Opportunities Initiative under the project will be focused on advocacy on the initiative for access to personal documents – organizing an information campaign  and developing information materials for different audiences (municipalities, communities); dissemination of information at national level among all communities and municipalities, as well as training of health mediators and other outreach workers in the community on the implementation of the potential legal change in the Civil Registration Act that got the approval of the Council of Ministers. Efforts will also be focused on exploring new advocacy topics for the Network and a report on possible legal changes to address the lack of adequate social housing policy at national/local level. Parallel to these activities, EOIA will coordinate all NGOs working in the filed under the initiative, and will implement outreach work with youth, pregnant women and families living in poverty without address registration and support them to obtain identity documents and access to services.
