This project addresses low attendance and academic results of Roma students as well as lack of quality teaching in multiethnic schools. The support includes a small monthly stipend for up to 3 Teach for Bulgaria teachers awarded on a competitive basis to encourage them to teach in the same school for an additional year after their 2-year engagement with Teach for Bulgaria ends.
Teachers receiving the fellowship are also responsible for implementing a school or community project with their students, involving Roma and non-Roma students in their school and/or community with the goal of improving their skills and learning.
