The struggle and persecution of Roma people during the World War II is an area, which is not enough researched from the academics worldwide. The first official acknowledgment that Roma were prosecuted and murdered due to their ethnicity came nearly 30 years after the end of the war. The Roma genocide is forgotten and often ignored or underestimated. Roma scientist prof. Hristo Kyuchukov managed to collect stories of brave Roma women from the war period who were resisting the Nazi regime through different forms, even by saving lives of Jewish children. Some of these women are known, some of them for first time will come to light. The name of the book is “The Roma Woman and The Second World War”. Coauthor of the book is Maria Kasimova-Moase, Bulgarian writer. The famous Roma actress Nataliya Tsekova together with her colleagues are working on theater performance where the stories of three Roma women from the book will be told.
