This project focuses on the 89th Elementary school in Druzhba, Sofia. Activities address grade repetition and dropout, low academic performance, low rates of high school enrollment, and low teacher motivation. The project will involve 225 Roma students and will test an innovative approach: by establishing a small grants competition within the school, the NGO aims to encourage and support teachers to design and implement activities that aim to improve teaching in the classroom as well as students’ learning outcomes, attendance, grade completion, and academic performance.
