The present project seeks to bridge economically disadvantaged communities with employment. Project activites include training of members of economically disadvantaged Roma families from the village of Kuklen and Plovdiv region, with a focus on Roma women, to increase economic self-sufficiency and overcome social exclusion. This will be accomplished by providing informal training to 15 Roma women for the acquisition of key competences – including team work and other soft skills, as well as dual education curriculum for attaining tailoring skills. Subsequently trainees will obtain official certificates in tailoring profession and enroll into an apprenticeship program, at a private company, to practice their skills. Based on performance and feedback assessment provided by the partnering company at least half of them will be offered full time job.
