Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria announces the launch of a scholarship competition for Roma students enrolled in medical studies for the 2019/2020 academic year.
The program "Scholarship Support for Roma Students Enrolled in Medical Studies" is managed by the Trust for Social Achievement Foundation as a partner of the Operator of the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria. The Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria is implemented under the European Economic Area (EEA FM) Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, in 15 European Union Member States in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltic States. The main objective of the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria is "strengthened civil society, active citizens and empowered vulnerable groups".
The aim of the program is to form a community of health professionals motivated and prepared to contribute to solving health problems in the Roma community and with the potential to become meaningful role models for Roma youth.
The scholarship program started in the 2018/2019 academic year and is designed to last for six years. It is envisaged that an indicative number of 25 scholarships will be awarded during the competition for the 2019/2020 academic year, each worth between EUR 2350 and EUR 2650, depending on the applicants’ areas of study.
The application deadline for the 2019/2020 academic year is 10 December 2019, 18:00.
